What You Get (Delivered in 3 Days)
This combine is built around clarity. You will receive a performance report that summarizes results, explains what they mean, and highlights the most important priorities to improve speed, power, and durability.
✔ Performance Summary: strengths, limiting factors, and top priorities
✔ Speed Profile: 10-yard split and 40-yard dash results
✔ Change of Direction Profile: laser-timed Pro Shuttle results
✔ Power Profile: vertical jump, standing broad jump, and force plate outputs
✔ Joint Health and Movement Notes: motion capture findings translated into practical takeaways
The 6 Evaluation Stations
Each station measures a different performance quality that transfers across sports. Together, they build a complete picture of speed, power, movement, and change of direction.
Force Plate Testing
Measures how you produce and absorb force. Helps identify power strategy, asymmetries, and rate-based qualities linked to sport performance.
Motion Capture for Joint Health
Assesses joint-level movement patterns that influence durability and performance. Highlights constraints or control issues that may limit speed and power.
Vertical Jump
A clean measure of vertical power and explosive intent. Useful for tracking power expression and pairing with force plate outputs
Laser Timed Pro Shuttle
Measures deceleration, re-acceleration, and lateral redirection ability. A key indicator of change-of-direction efficiency.
Laser Timed 40 Yard Dash (10 Yard Split)
Captures acceleration with the 10-yard split and sprint capacity over 40 yards. Laser timing improves accuracy and repeatability
Standing Broad Jump
Measures horizontal power output. Often relates strongly to early acceleration and total lower-body power expression
Event Flow (Approximately 3 Hours Total)
Athletes rotate through six evaluation stations in a structured circuit. Each station runs for about 25 minutes including transitions. This format is designed to reduce waiting, keep testing standardized, and make results more consistent.
Speaker Panel: Mindset and the Process Behind Elite Performance
Approximately 30 minutes after the combine ends, we will host a guest speaker panel featuring former professional athletes and elite performers. The panel focuses on mindset, preparation, and the long-term process behind high-level athletic development.
Approximately 3 Hours Total
Testing Standards You Can Trust
When it comes to athletic testing, precision matters. Each station uses state-of-the-art
equipment and methods to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transferability across sports.
World-Class Equipment
Uses force plates, laser-timed lasers, and motion capture systems to measure strength, speed, and
movement quality.
Movement Experience
Led by sports scientists and coaches who understand biomechanics. Evaluates full athletic performance with expert cueing and breakdowns.
Objective Reporting
Delivers unbiased, action-oriented reports. Converts complex data into clear priorities that athletes, parents, and coaches can act on.
Coaching and Interpretation
The SLO County Combine is built and run by Code 8 Performance. We use force plates, motion capture, and laser timing to collect credible data, but the real value is interpretation: translating results into clear priorities that athletes, parents, and coaches can act on.
Elite Performance Coaching Pedigree: Former Cal Poly football + track athlete who played professionally (CFL + Arena) and later coached athletes across top leagues, including MLB, AVP, NBA, NFL, WNBA, plus volleyball and track & field.
High-Level mentorship + Applied Experience: Worked under Dr. Marcus Elliott at P3, collaborating with Team USA Track & Field coaches, AVP, and other high-performance staffs while training elite/pro athletes.
Deep credentials + current PhD: M.S. in Kinesiology, currently pursuing a PhD in Exercise Physiology, and holds USAW Level II, Senior RKC, CSCS, and SCCC certifications
